This was the theme of the recent National General Assembly of Local Government where Sue Buckman attended as an exhibitor as a representative of Defib For life.
Sue had many beneficial face to face conversations with local Councillors, mayors, general managers and CEO’s representing councils from across Australia.
The theme “make it local” rings true with Defib For Life whose mission is to ensure as many people as possible in public places throughout communities have access to a defibrillator.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest can happen to anyone at any time. It doesn’t discriminate.
It is now more important than ever to respond to the demand in the communities to supply more units nationally to sporting clubs, sporting complexes, health clubs, community facilities, schools, corporate offices, government buildings, and industrial facilities.
Sue has been busy at the National General Assembly advocating for relevant legislative change so defibrillators are legally required within these locations.
You too can help out if you like, by writing to your local council and/or elected members and ask them if they are going to invest a small amount of money to make your local community rescue ready!
